The Mexican Connection, Part I: Commonalities Between Mexico and Philippines

My first impression of Mexico when I first visited the country in 2008 was that it felt so familiar. Since then, I have lived in Mexico for almost two years from 2012 to 2014 and this impression has been largely confirmed.   1. where did you get your history book? :)... very nice and interesting stories that I never read in my ordinary history book

    if there were many Mexcians who came to Philippines, were there intermarriages? sometimes some Filipinos in The US were mistakenly thought to be Mexicans because of facial features and physique

    But I greatly agree, Mexico is like Philippines in many ways

  2. Why do you think we never speak Spanish the way the Mexicans do, considering Philippines was also under Spain for 300 years?

    1. The Americans totally changed our history when they instituted English language as the new lingua franca. Spanish was no longer used in law or business. It died a natural death.
